Parallels update 4.0.3846>4.0.3848 issue

Everytime I start Parallels on my Mac OS I get the Update screen to update to the newest version. I am having some issues within my XPPro running slow and crashing outlook. So I took it upon myself to update my Mac OS which is done and updating my Parallels and Windows XP (which im doing in order). Moving on to the problem. When I am trying to update parallels it gives me during the "detection" stage to shut down "Microsoft Windows XP."

There is no virtual Machine running on the computer. I am simply using the Mac OS side (10.5.8).

I recall originally having boot camp and converting it to a Parallels VM during initial installation. This is the ONLY VM on and used on the computer.
