I am unable to find a relevant thread that answered this.

    I am using Tiger 10.4.11
I have pulled out everything (all FireWire) from the machine.
I have enable the autoconnect to USB, in the Virtual Machine. Then rebooted the whole machine.
When I pull down Devices, and go to USB, 4 items show up: IR Receiver; Apple Wireless: External HDD; and Built-in iSight. Nothing is checked off. Nothing is engaged. I get the following message:
The USB device is not being recognized because "its being used by another process".
I did get help from another photographer - I know to make sure its off my mac desktop before I launch the virtual machine.

What would block the external HD from being recognized by the virtual Windows XP console. Anyone???
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance.
