I know I'll probably be inundated with flames and abuse for saying so , but ... Parallels works perfectly for me . I have Windows XP loaded on to it , nearly every program I've tried on it works perfectly too . Some very intensive graphics slow down too much to be useable but other than that , no problems . I have owned PC's for 25 years or more now , progressing from DOS 3 up through most versions of Windows ( I skipped ME ... ) until I got to XP . It was only when XP insisted on verifying that it was a legit copy every time I booted my PC that I flew into a rage and decided I had to change to a Mac . Most programs have a Mac equivalent , but some do not , and this is why I decided I would have to have an Intel Mac , complete with Boot Camp , so I could load up a copy of XP if and when the need arose . When I actually bought my Mac Mini , I picked up a magazine which had a review of a beta copy of Parallels . Boot Camp never made it as far as my Mac , once I tried the beta version of Parallels there was no going back , why would I want to reboot the Mac to run Windows , when I could run it within OS X ? I bought a copy of Parallels at the 'pre-release' offer price and have used it ever since . Perhaps I don't use it as much as some other users , but it has worked for me , faultlessly . I have a Humax PVR , this can be updated through a serial port . The software is PC only ( wake up Humax ... ) and with Parallels , XP , USB-Serial adapter - job done . Sony Satellite Navigation unit ? Firmware updated from Parallels . Psion computer ? Backed up from Parallels . Xircom Rex PDA ? Again backed up from Parallels . All the software for the above is PC only , without Parallels I would still need to maintain a PC , just to update or back them up . Thanks to Parallels I don't need to . So I would like to say ; Thanks Parallels , you've made my switch to the Mac totally complete , and much easier than it might have been . And to prove it does work - this post is being made from Opera , running inside Parallels , on my Mac .
