    Hello,

i have 2 Parallels Desktops for Mac installed. Both @ macbookpro's

the first install acts like supposed

the second install acts kinda strange, if i select: install Parallels tools,
while being loged in my virtual windows XP.
After i select the install option nothing happens
....No processes, no upcoming windows as it is supposed to.

    its build: 1970

the side-effect is, that i cant use my usb2rs232 adapters at this parallels installation.

    any ideas ?

    best regards
    fidel

After you select Install Parallels Tools, go into the VM and open your Explorer window by pressing APPLE - E (or FLAG - E if you have a Win keyboard). The CD drive icon should say Parallels Tools. It should start if you click on it.

My problem was that one of the first things I did after installing XP was turn off all auto-running of CDs or removable media, and so when I wanted to install Tools, it wasn't working because it my settings had disabled it to run automatically. It sounds like you might have something set like that, too, somewhere.
