I have Parallels 3.0 with the latest updates installed on a MacBook Pro with Leapord. I have just installed Office 2007 on the Win XP VM on Parallels. Outlook doesn't work. Has anyone had experience with this combination? The problems I am experiencing are: 1. Can't send new email - Get a "A dialog box is open. Close and retry" message when I click the New Mail button. 2. Can't Reply or Forward existing email. Clicking on any of these options does nothing. 3. Can't close an open email using the X in the right corner of the email. Have to right click on the email label on the task bar and select close. 4. Can't close Outlook by any means except going to Task Manager and selecting "End Application". I have installed all of the Win XP and Office 2007 updates. Any ideas?
I just found the solution myself. It's simple. After installing Office 2007 open Word or Excel first. A dialog box pops up asking for a user name and initials. Filling in the requested fields appearantly validates the installation. If you launch Outlook first the dialog box is hidden by the Outlook window and the validation process can't be completed.
