    Hello,

I installed Parallels 7 on a late 2011 13" MacBook Pro, Core i7 with 4GB RAM last November. I am running Windows 7 on that virtual machine. Just prior to upgrading to Mountain Lion I launched Parallels 7 and it operated normally. I also checked Roaring Apps and it reported that Parallels 7 was compatible with Mountain Lion.

This morning I upgraded to Mountain Lion on that MBP. Much to my surprise, Parallels won't launch. There is the universal Stop symbol (circle with a line through it) covering the icon. Since it won't launch I can't see if it needs to be upgraded but I normally am very good at upgrading software in a timely fashion. The version I have installed is
    7.0.15052.710728

It is possible that this has to do with GateKeeper? Would changing a setting in Mountain Lion work? I downloaded Parallels 7 just now but I am not sure what would happen if I tried to install it and replace what is on the MBP now. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I should have mentioned that the error message I get when I try to launch Parallells 7 says: "You can't use this version of the application Parallels Desktop with this version of OSX. You have Parallels Desktop 7."

    Thanks,

I've done some troubleshooting to eliminate some factors and tried to isolate the problem. None these actions revealed a solution.
Logged in as a different user.
    Rest PRAM
    Repaired permissions
    Restarted in Safe Mode
Dragged all the com.parallels plists out of the ~/Library/preferences folder, logged out and logged in again
Searched the console logs for something related to Parallels (no string found)
Looked at the Parallels folder in the ~/Library. The latest download was on July 15th.

So I think that either something happened during the ML update to corrupt the application or there are some compatibility problems with the current version of Parallels Desktop for Mac and Mountain Lion.

What have I missed and how might I regain use of Parallels 7?

    Thanks,

I am having the same problem. Running version 7.0.15052.710728 and just installed Mountain Lion. Now Parallels won't launch because Mountain Lion gives the error message that I must be running Parallels version 7.0. Any help?
