Partition Questions and XP install fail

Ok, so i partitioned my 1 TB HD using disk utility. I partitioned 100GB to be used for holding the Windows XP operating system. Parallels, is of course installed on the partition where the OS is installed. Can i install windows XP on my 100GB partition? Something tells me i can't, because every time Windows boots up to install, it either freezes or says that a .sys file is corrupted. What am i doing wrong?
