Since upgrading to the latest version of Parallels, my Passport USB external drive seems to be connected to the MAC OS using drive letter V. Previously this was mapped to drive E: and was tied only to Windows (not accessible from the MAC side). The problem is that now that it is connected through the MAC, my backup software (Logmein Backup) will not recognize the drive.

What I need to do is to disconnect the drive from the MAC side and have it only available through Windows as drive E: I have tried ejecting from the MAC, unplugging and then plugging back in. When I'm prompted whether I want this available to MAC or Windows I choose windows but then it once again connects it as "My Passport 1 on 'Mac' (V:)".

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

    Thanks!
    Bob

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm using Windows 7 Professional.

Hi, did you try the following:
Parallels Desktop Preferences -> Devices -> Connect USB to the active virtual machine?

Yes, but it still wants to put this on drive V associated with the Mac.
