Since I have installed Parallels 7 I have noticed all my hard drives are constantly spinning and writing. This includes two USB externals.

This happens even when Parallels isnt running? also prevents MacOS from sleeping.

I have raised a ticket with support but yet to receive a reply.

Anybody else experience the same problem? or offer a solution?

    Cheers

Hard disk spinning and unpredictable sleep

For some months my Mac has issues with getting to sleep or awaking unexpectatly. I am also on the opinion of that it is somehow related to Parallels. And that it must be a version 7 thing, I experience close to zero benefit from version 7. Only this annoying thing. VM runs Windows XP.

Also the HD keeps spinning at high speed unexpectatly, was thinking my Mac itself had problems. But it seems to be gone whenever Parallels is not running, so for that part it is not comparable with your issue.
