I've got a new 2011 MBPro Core i7 2.2 and 4gb with Lion. I've got a trial of Parallels 6 12094. I think Parallels is something I wish to buy, but I'm having some troubles. My VM just brings the system to a halt. I can use the VM just fine (Windows Vista) but once it's started, OSX is unusable until the VM is closed. I have 2gb assigned to the VM, and the VM runs fast. It's not sluggish at all. It's just OSX. And I'm not pushing OSX hard. Just running Chrome brings the systems down to a unusable speed. I even just opening Chrome with just a single tab is slow. I can't get any support or updates because I haven't purchased it. I won't buy it unless I can sort this out... Vicious cycle... I'm going to try lower the assigned ram down to 1gb for the OS, but any other ideas would be nice.
