I bought Parallels 15 and I notice that media files, documents, cue files, mp3 files, Pdfs, etc all have, on the right click contextual menu, options to open with Windows applications. I even clicked on a .mkv file and it DEFAULTED to Windows Media Player.

I do NOT want windows to do anything but "keep its mouth shut" and rear its head only when called to do so within Parallels itself.contextual menus. Windows is junk and I want it nowhere near integrated with my Mac. I use it to play one game and that's it. How do I stop Windows apps from showing up in contextual menu?

    Thank you.

Hello, you can isolate your Windows VM from Mac and check how will it work for you.

The better solution is to go to Configure in the Menu, then Applications, disable "Share Windows Applications with Mac".
Using your method would prevent me from accessing Mac files.

However, Now, even tough I configured what Mac folders I want tis hare on Windows, every times I open these Mac folders in Windows, the folder is empty, even though
in Mac they are full of stuff.
Very confusing, and disappointing. I should have Stuck to VMWare Fusion.

In this case you can try to reinstall Parallels Tools, restart your VM and check the sharing options then.
