hi ,, please help me.. i had parallels 3.0.. and one day it say my hdd was corrupt. i had all my info and pics on that parallels side.. (all my babies pics :( ) i saved and and backed up that vm. i tried to upgrade to the new 5 parallels, it wouldnt let me recover that vm. it said that there is no hard disk. i made a new one vm all seems fine, but how can i open my pics from other vm backup? or move them over to see if i can open them. i feel i have lost all these pics and it makes me so sad. i dont want to give up. please help me. i have this love hate relationship with parallels.. i love it but hate that everything is a mission. can i really ever recover my stuff, or do i give up? why cant i just open my old files in the new vm???please please please help. thanks

trying to open my old vm it first says this..
The real network adapter Built-in Ethernet used by the virtual adapter 1 is not connected to the network.
Make sure the real adapter is connected to a wireless or wired network.

    then it says this..
Unable to connect Hard Disk 1.
A file or device required for the operation of Hard Disk 1 does not exist or is used by another process, or you have no permission to access it. The virtual machine will continue running, but the device will be disconnected.

For the first message, go into Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware, select Network Adapter 1, press [-], then press [+] to add a new Network Adapter.

For the hard disk problem, it may be broken beyond repair.
Go to Window -> Virtual Machine List. Right click the virtual machine and select "Show in Finder". Right click the .pvm and select "Show Package Contents", rename the .hdd file to .old.hdd, then duplicate it, then rename the duplicate to .hdd. Then right click the .hdd and select Open With -> Parallels Mounter. Does it mount to the Finder? If so then what files are on it? Does it contain your pics? Does it contain Windows? Eject it and try running the VM again.

Do you still have the .hdd from Parallels 3.0? Do you remember if it was a compressed or uncompressed virtual hard disk?
