Frustrated at what feels like a bait and switch. I called the Parallels sales office in late June to specifically ask if they were planning an upgrade due to the new MacOS - the answer was "no need for an upgrade because Parallels 11 is fully compatible with the newest Mac Operating System."

50 days later, Parallels 12 launches, and only allows for free upgrades if you bought Parallels 11 in the previous 18 days. I emailed your customer service to ask why the upgrade period is so short and if you could make an exception since your office told me incorrect information, but the customer service just did a cut-and-paste of the upgrade policy without even attempting to address my question. It appears that these forums are the only other way to actually try and get someone, so I'm trying here.

I really think that if Parallels is going to continue frequent updates and give really short upgrade windows, it should take the Apple route, where it's an open secret that it's a bad time to buy an iPhone in August.
