Poor Screen Resolution on External Monitor

I just recently installed Parallels 11 (just converted from an old version of VMware Fusion, so I am a 'newbie') running Windows 10. After opening a Windows application, the screen resolution (for that application) on my MacBook Pro is fine, but the resolution on my 24" external monitor is poor (fonts are small and fuzzy). Resolution on OSX apps on the external monitor are fine.

Is there an adjustment or setting I can make to try and fix this?

    Thanks.

Hi Rick, in VM config > Hardware > Video> disable retina support and check how it goes

Regrettably, 'Video' is not an option on my hardware tab (although it does show 'Graphics' - just memory size). I cannot find (anywhere) in my Parallels 11 configuration anything about retina support. FYI, I'm running a 3-year-old MacBook Pro (I don't believe it provides retina support...).

Well, that means that this is not a retina Mac and it should all work fine right out of the box. Does it happen in Full Screen mode or window mode? Could you try to reinstall Parallels Tools http://kb.parallels.com/en/4841

Reinstalling Parallels Tools seemed to do the trick (thanks). The problem was when I was in 'window' mode (haven't yet figured out how to run Full Screen mode, but I'm working on it :). Thanks again for your help - very much appreciated!
