@Alex6, please try steps below: 1.Start VM 2. Click "Start"- > go to Control Panel -> Region and Language 3. In the "Region and Language " choose "Keyboards and Languages" tab - click on "Change keyboards" 4. In new window click "Add" -> locate "Potuguese (Brazil)" -> click on it -> then click Keyboard -> and choose "Portuguese (Brazilian, ABNT, Apple) - Parallels" 5. After the previous steps click OK
I know how to change the keyboard layout. I want Portuguese (from Portugal not Brazilian ) Apple keyboard layout, but isn't in the list of keyboards. I want to buy Parallels Desktop only if i have the correct keyboard layout. Thanks
I am having the same problem. I am running El Capitan Public Beta 2 and VM Windows 10 (10240). I am not sue if this issue appeared when I did the last windows update to version 10240 of windows 10 or if it appeared after I updated to El Capitan. I believe it was after the 10240 update. I have the Portuguese keyboard selected but the Apple (Parallels) version is not installed. The Brazilian version is of no use to me as it also doesn't fit my actual keyboard. I was having no problems before. I'm running Parallels 10.2.1.
@alexandret1 and @Alex6 please upgrade to the latest build of Parallels Desktop 10 (10.2.2) and check the issue with Portuguese layout.
How could something so simple and basic to the functionality of this program have simply disappeared...?
I have always installed the portuguese keyboard that comes with bootcamp. However, I have tested the "Brazilian ABNT, Apple - Parallels" as suggested by Maria@Parallels and the mapping of the keys is exactly the same as in the Portuguese (from Portugal) keyboard layout. The problem is that, as it happened with me, Portuguese people from Portugal don't even try the Brazilian layouts. Why doesn't Parallels replicate the Brazilian layout with a "Portuguese QWERTY, Apple - Parallels" name?
I remember trying the Brazilian keyboard as suggested but somehow I didn't notice that Windows defaulted to the english keyboard instead and thought that it didn't work. Upon your suggestion I tested the Brazilian keyboard again and this time I made sure it was the one selected and I can confirm that it works properly. Nevertheless, this was working before without having to manually change the keyboard and should be revised.
