Hello, I would like to run some heavy windows applications on my Macbook Pro. To let these applications run smoother, I think it's better to fully reboot Windows, so without running Mac OS X simultaneously. Is this possible with Parallels? Or is it not even necessary, because it will barely make any difference in performance? (between running Windows only, and running Windows and Mac OS X simultaneously) Thanks in Advance
You cannot boot your Mac to a virtual hard disk created by Parallels. Instead, you need to install Windows onto a partition on your Macbook Pro's disk using Boot Camp Assistant in your Utilities folder. Then you can run that installation by booting your Mac into it, or by using a virtual machine in Parallels. Performance depends mostly on how much RAM you have.
