Printing by USB not working

Hello I am using parallels 19 with sonoma OS. I have finally figured out how to print over wifi but all my printing needs are done without wifi and with a usb cord. I cannot get it to work at all even though my parallels is picking up the usb and even allowing me to print the print never actually gets executed on the printer. This is a major issue that I would like to figure out sooner rather than later.
