Hello! We encounter several printing problems with 2x universal printing. 1. From time to time, on some of the clients , when the user tries to print a small window pop-ups : "Your client does dot support 2x universal printing". If the user log-offs from the server and after a few minutes logs on again, the printing function normally. We have the latest client (421). 2. Sometimes the user prints PDF or EMF and nothing happens.. PDF will not open and/or EMF file is not printed. Is there a way to log all the printing requests on the 2x server so we can see if the print request reaches the server or not ? Thanks
Hello! Your support team asked us to check some key in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\AddIns\2XVirtualPrinter ) and Event Viewer for errors. However, the key exists on all workstations and we haven't seen any errors in Event Viewer on the workstations or the terminal servers regarding 2x printing. But we still get every day this error on multiple users (Your client does not support 2X Virtual Printing). We use the latest client/server (6.0.421). I have to say I'm very disappointed in 2x Universal Printing and your support team also, it's not reliable and more often than not it's not working. We payed for this program that it's not working as advertised If it's any help, we use roaming profiles for the 2 terminal servers that we have.
