I am running build 1940 on a Mac Pro

When I have WinXP on my Parallels desktop I am unsure how to configure and connect my HP Laserjet 2300 printer.

The Laserjet is connected to the Mac Pro (via USB)

When I print from my Parallels desktop I first have to make sure the printer is 'connected' if I want to print - when doing so I am unable to print from the Mac Pro until I have disconnected the printer from the Parallels desktop.

Am I supposed to pretend that the Laserjet is a network printer if I want to print??

In a word, yes. In fact, it IS a network printer because the host and guest are different machines, and the network connects them just as if they were physically different.
