When printing via the parallel port (from either Windows XP or Linux (SuSE 11.1) guest OS), the very first print job gets disturbed. It seems that the first 4K chunk is missing and the 2nd 4K chunk repeated later on. I suspect that this is due to misfunction in buffer switching. See the attached file for an example. Any clues?
