Hello everyone, I installed Ubuntu server 14.04 LTS as a VM on my IMac running latest OSX 10.10. I want to run a teamspeak3 server but ran into some problems with the portforwardingfeature of Parallels Desktop i guess. Here the situation: First the Teamspeak 3 Server is installed and configurated, running at the ubuntu server. The Ubuntu server VM uses the "shared network" configuration and therefor i configurated Parallels desktop to forward the tcp port 22 for ssh and the tcp ports 30033, 10011 and the udp Port 9987 for teamspeak to the VM. Within my network everything works fine. I can access my server using ssh and i can connect to the Teamspeak 3 server. Further i configurated my Speedport W724v (router of the german telekom) to forward incoming data from the internet at the mentioned ports to the equivalent ports on my Imac. From the Internet only the ssh access works but not the connection to the teamspeak 3 server. First i thought its problem with my Speedport because when i use a TCP-UDP Portscan-tool it shows that the tcp ports are open and the udp port is closed. But when i delete the portforwarding of the udp Port in Parallels Desktop it shows the port is open so i think the problem is there and not at my router. Maybe someone can help ? thanks
Ok i solved the issue by using bridged network but it would be nice to understand why it did not work using shared network. Especially why the tcp ports where forwarded correct but the udp port not ... Just to understand how it works.
