    Hi,

I created a VM using the Ubuntu's ISO disk, Everything was fine, I rebooted and I installed all updates from Ubuntu, then after rebooting, i was able to login but the Ubuntu's Desktop is Black (no wallpaper) The "Dock" can be accessed but when I try to launch an app the window of the App can't be saw.

I repeat the same issue ont another new VM with Ubuntu, I guess there is an issue with Ubuntu's update and the parralel's video driver ?

    Thanks for your help.

Performing a manual clean install, and have it update before installing Parallels Tools seem to have worked for me.

I'm having the same problem. Followed the KB, reinstalled Ubuntu, ran all updates from the software center, rebooted, installed Parallels Tools, and still having the problem. Any ideas?

Did you install Ubuntu as a manual one where Parallels Tools wasn't installed in the process? That seemed to work for me.
