Problems after Upgrading to v8

I recently purchased the upgrade to v8 of Parallels Desktop and have found a few problems so far:

1) It won't start up in coherence mode
2) If I select a Windows program from my 'Windows 7 Applications' folder to start Windows, it doesn't actually start the application - it just goes into Windows mode
3) My desktop is black.

Is this a known problem with v8? A bit disappointing after paying for this upgrade.
