I have just discovered that if I connect my Nokia N95G8 via the USB to the XP environment under parallels I cannot transfer data from the N95 to XP.

Using My Computer and finding the Nokia device I select the file I need to copy usually images and the process just hangs.

Not sure if it is linked to the same problem but I also get intermittent issues when using the Sync software to sync the N95 to Outlook.

I did not try the copy process on a previous build of Parallels

I can use the same device with the same cable on a real XP PC and I get no problems.

    Thanks

    John

    Hello John,

Could you let me know what cable you are using?

I would also appreciate if you could send me a screenshot of Windows Device Manager when the cable is connected. We should check if you have the proper drivers installed.

To open Device Manager go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware. Please open the tree of USB Controller for we could see the drivers.

If you have built-in Bluetooth adapter you can try to synchronize your Nokia N95G8 to the Guest OS via Bluetooth. Have a look at this article.

    Best regards,

    The screen shot is attached.

Cable is as supplied by Nokia DKE-2 108382742201

Also, The bluetooth option will not work for me as my only k/b and Mouse are Bluetooth and as I understand when you enable the bluetooth as an alternative to USB the system disconnects the Mouse and K/h

    THanks

    John

John, I've just sent you an e-mail you used to register on the Forum. Please attach the screenshot to e-mail. On the one attached to your last post it's difficult to see the drivers.

    Thank you in advance.

Could you please specify your Mac model? You do not have touchpad?

    Best regards,

John, thank you for the screenshot and for all the information provided.

Please connect the telephone as Mass storage to your Mac. You will be able to see your Nokia N95G8 as a usual drive through Shared Folders in VM. This will let you to transfer data from the N95 to XP.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

OK, this might solve the problem of transferring information from the N95 to XP but is parallels causing my problems when I try to sync the N95 with Outlook?

    Thanks

    Hello John,

You might encounter problems when synchronizing Nokia N95G8 with Virtual Machine. There is an issue here that we are working on to fix.

You can try to use serial port at Parallels Desktop to synchronize the device with Outlook. Our QA team is going to test this possible workaround. I'll be able to give you the detailed instructions when they do.

Edited: I am sorry, synchronization through serial port will not work. So you would only be able to synchronize if you had USB keyboard and mouse.

    Best regards,
    Xenos
