    Hi,

I am trying Parallels with Windows 2003 server R2. With Beta four it was working perfectly. As soon as I upgraded to Beta 5 the mouse is very strange. The first thing I noticed is that I have two mouse pointers instead of one as before. I have reinstalled the Parallels tools but it is still the same behavior.
The second problem is that the mouse in Mac OS X become crazy as well. I need to restart the computer to avoid the problem. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    G. Acilu

Try to re-install Parallels Tools please (installation supports update option).

But how do you re-install? All attempts to uninstall and re-install have failed for me.

Just try to install new Parallels Tools on top the old ones. From menu VM->Install Parallels Tools.

See recent thread "Install problems" for similar experiences. I, too, attempted reinstall of PW several times and in various manners (even attempting rollback to Beta 4), with no success and several other problems.

My end solution: create a new VM and reinstall the guest OS.

  6. Is one the Windows and one the OS X pointer. Does clicking in the Windows frame make one go away?

I have noticed more cases on this release where the Mac mouse pointer seems to come back in specific cases (not random). Clicking always returns to the Windows only one.

The way this should work (and does as long as PW is functioning properly), is the mouse should automatically switch from one OS pointer to another (no clicking required), and it should track seamlessly between the two (requires Parallels Tools). Without PT installed, you must click inside the guest OS to activate it, find the mouse where you last left it, and then press ctrl-option to get back to OS X...a real pain.

  8. I no longer see the intermittent mouse behaviour (when going between Parallels and OS X) in Beta 6.
