Hello, I have problems running Windows XP with parallels 8 on my MAC. System: MB Pro - 4GB OSX Version 10.8.2 Parallels 8 (i was running 7 before) VMs: - Win 7 Bootcamp - XP for working located on external HDD - XP for tests and stuff located on external HDD I bought Parallels 8 this week and installed it. All went fine. Then i wanted to run my old VMs. I have one Win 7 setup (Bootcamp) and two XP setups (one for working and one for testing software and stuff). I started lauching XP and it started booting. Durring loading process Parallels Tools started the installation procedure. At aprox 32% it was freezing and the howle VM is not responding any more. I waited several minutes for any changes, but nothing happened. I needed to stop and close the VM. I tried again it posted the message: "Error on ready hard disk, restart..." Starting the Bootcamp with Win 7 worked fine. Parallels Tools where installed and it is working normally. So i tested with my playground XP VM. It got the same result as with the other XP Version. So i tried reapiring and started the VM with my win XP CD. No error message, just a black screen and no other responce. I worked with this guideline. http://kb.parallels.com/de/5138/?show_at=en When I try to open the HDD in the WM file with finder, parallesl mounter tells me the file system is either not supported or corrupt. I should start the VM and check the HD for errors. So no working VM and the advice to start the VM to get this solved... hm... yes. Does anybody know this problem? I don't want to setup a howle new VM because there are some data i don't want to lose. Atleast it would cost me several days to reproduce them. Cheers, Steve
