Greetings all! I have a simple question. We are running a Citrix environment and demoing 2x as a replacement. When logging onto Citrix, we only receive the standard Windows 2003 logon screen. The little box that says “Applying policies”. When logging onto a 2x environment, I get that plus my screen changes to the default blue background until the published application loads. Is this by design or can the blue background be removed. I work with some very simple users that will think their desktop icons have disappeared. My second question is based on printing. I recently was given the requirement to not allow PDF. Not a problem, I enable EMF. The problem then becomes a huge problem with size verses bandwidth. Is there an option to compress the stream on the server then send the stream to the client for printing as with Tricerat Screwdrivers? I fear that the answer is no.
First of all if the client connects within 5 sec, the blue background is not shown. On the other hand there might be circumstances, where the user does not enter a Password before logging on so the logon dialog needs to be shown. So yes this is by design. As you have pointed out well EMF outputs, tends to be quite large. In fact 2X by default is already compressing the emf documents on the server before sending it to the client. Nixu
