Ok I have a Citrix farm of four servers. We recently purchased a 4 server license of 2X to load balance a citrix desktop across all our users, but it got me thinking. I'd like to set up my system to have two of the servers be published desktops, and the other two be my application servers. Basically set it so the users connect to one of the two for a desktop, and then when they run their programs it runs off of one of the other two. I hit one snag and was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to get this to work. I know 2X publishes application only using RDP, so I don't know if that is where my limitation is right now. Basically the biggest snag is that there is no way to drag and drop attachments from outlook to any other program. I understand that it isn't possible to drag an attachment from Outlook and drop onto the desktop or another folder as they are in two different locations, BUT I was wondering if there is a way to get to to allow users to drag an attachment from outlook and drop into an application running on the same session? Alternatively, is there a way to get the 2X load balancer to load balance Citrix published applications? I have set up my published applications on my Citrix farm, and when Outlook is launched and then the other application is launched they run in the same Citrix Session and thus you are able to drag attachements from Outlook into the other program just fine. Is there a way to make 2X aware of Citrix Published applications and thus load balance them? IE Set up all my published applications on my two servers directly IN the citrix farm, and then tell Citrix program neighborhood to point to my 2x load balancer for application information? If anyone has any answers. Let me know.
