Is anyone experiencing issues with icons generated when publishing to web coming up either missing or garbled? Example - the "back" icon comes up blue and discolored. Also, when specifying a different icon for an application with a .ico file, the icon either doesn't appear on the web page, or it is also discolored. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these same problems. Oh, they show up just fine in the Windows Client.. Thanks!
Yes, the back image that comes with 2x is horrible. It actually uses the back.png file at the base of the location where you published the web page. You can go to google images and grab any back icon you want for that, change it to a png, size it correctly, maybe match the background color, and you should be good to go. It would be nice if 2X would create a better stock png file however.
Solution Found...With no help from 2X Support Everyone: Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, I'm guessing so. But, whenever you add an icon that is a .ico to a published app, it comes out garbled and miscolored on the web. I have had this happen on 3 different servers, except one. The difference? Server 2003 Service Pack 2. I did not install on the others because in SP2, any resolution over 1600x1200 goes to 8 bit and there is no way to change this (Linux desktops with xinerama). In sp1 this does not happen. Anyways..the solution was to install a free (trial) program called gconvert and create an icon library and add all the .ico in there. Once you change your icons amd re-publish to web..everything works. Note: A ticket was submitted with support and NO reponse was ever received (1 month)...very disappointed so far with the 2X support. Right now they are 0 for 2....hope everyone else is having better luck.
