Anyone have any advice for me regarding the installation of Quickbooks on my MacBook. My POS Dell crashed so I thought I'd try running Quickbooks on my MacBook. I've installed Parallels v3.0. I installed Windows XP but I cannot get it to run the installation of my Quickbooks Pro 2005 CD. I've also tried Quickbooks 2007. When I try and run the installation I get the following error message: Unable to open VM configuration file Volumes/QBCA2005_R1/setup.exe! and a similar message when trying to install Quickbooks 2007. I have very little computer experience so I'm not certain if I have to do something else to the Parallels side of it or if it has something to do with Windows XP. I've got the VM set up to the default CD/DVD so I'm not certain what else to do. Any help someone could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks. CB
I can't say exactly your issue is, but I've been running Quickbooks Pro within Parallels since day one without incident. Can you give us a little more detail as to how you were going about the installation of Quickbooks?
I'm DumB! Ok, thanks for the reply. It turns out that I had not completed the install of Windows XP fully so it could not read the disk. I created a new virtual machine with Parallels, did a full install of the Windows XP program and then installed Quickbooks 2007. I did a restore from my backup (which was 2005 Pro version). Thanks for putting up with dummies like me! CB
