Hi. I've been trying to get the Razer Imperator mouse drivers to recognize my Imperator mouse, but it keeps saying that it can't detect any Razer mice. I'm running Parallels Desktop 7.0.15107 with the latest version of Windows 7. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging it in the usb port and have tried all 4 usb ports on my iMac and I get the same message. I tried installing a Windows XP virtual machine and installed the drivers again and got the same message.

I've tried installing and uninstalling each version of the driver:

    2.05
    2.02
    1.02

And none of those work. I've also tried uninstalling the Windows 7 virtual machine and Parallels and reinstalling everything, and I get the same mouse not detected message from the driver.

I had actually done this successfully a few years ago with an older Parallels Desktop, and I got the driver to work just fine. Unfortunately, when you program a button on this mouse via the Windows driver, it stays that way no matter what machine you plug it into. I kind of want to use it as a gaming mouse and the right mouse button is currently a double click, so gaming is basically impossible until I can configure the buttons.

There is a Mac driver, which I also have installed on the system already, but it doesn't allow you to configure the buttons, just the tracking sensitivity. I tried uninstalling that to see if maybe it was conflicting with the Windows virtual machine driver, but that didn't help.

I contacted Razer, and they said it's probably something with Parallels that's preventing the detection process. They recommended that I just partition a hard drive and install Windows and the driver via bootcamp. I can't really partition a hard drive right now, so Parallels is really my only option. I just need to figure out why exactly this driver doesn't work now, but it did a few years ago. Obviously, I think I was using an older version of Parallels back then, but you'd think the newer version would be more compatible with third-party drivers not less. Any ideas on how to get this driver to work?
