How do start with a new set of preferences without losing the VM file? For some strange reason, the shared folders do not show contents everytime I start up. I need to remove and then add the shared folder and it will work for the session until I quit. I'm thinking it's a preferences problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

ok, here is what i suggest to do on the shared folder issue

    1. open the VM and do and add/remove parallel tools
    2. shut down the VM and under the Guest setup remove the shared folder and then re-add it
    3. start the VM and then goto parallels top menu and select VM and then install parallel tools

try this first to get the shared folders back in sync

    as for a new VM

    1. shut down VM OS and when you get to Guest Setup, click on New VM button at bottom

you can alway have this new VM point to existing HDD file
