I used Parallels 13 on an old iMac with High Sierra. I have two virtual machines, both with Windows XP to run a MS Access database and MS Money. I do not have a newer Windows OS, then I changed quit a long time ago from Windows XP to the Mac world.

My iMac "died" and my new machine is an M1 based Mac Book Pro. I shortly did the trial with Parallels 17 but not surprisingly the two virtual machines were not recognized as valid. Due to holidays I could try only two days, then the triel period was over.

    • Is there a chance to be able to re-use the old virtual machines an my M1 Mac? What do I need to do?
    • Or do I need to install my Parallels 13 on an older Intel based Mac to be able to use the two old virtual machines? (-> need to buy an Intel based Mac just for that)
    • Or do I need to go back on a Windows PC and install the MS Access and the MS Money there (-> need to buy a PC and Windows 10, maybe I cannot install the old MS Money there)
    • Or I need to find a solution to migrate the MS access database to a SW that runs on a Mac, same for the MS Money application?
    • Or do I need to realize that I cannot use the old Windows stuff and buy some bottle of good wine, that help me to forget it?
Thanks in advance for your advice
