Just today I installed everything I need with Fusion and ordered a key from VMWare. I have been using Parallels for probably six years now. I have never been more disappointed than with version 8. In fact, I think v7 was the best so far, but since I'm running 10.82 going back to v7 is not really an option. I have reinstalled Parallels, recreated the VM etc. Still, on average once a day something goes wrong that ultimately leads to me stopping the VM, typically by force - but I won't be able to launch Parallels again because of some process that I can't find that prevents Parallels from coming up - but OS X won't shut down - so I have to reset my machine almost everyday. Other symptoms: my CCC backup stopped working - it will never run through (after Parallels has gone south). I can't shutdown OS X. All that is needed at time is Parallels v8 to be up (with Win 8). I never had anything remotely severe going on with any previous, so I have been waiting for updates, one came that didn't change a thing for me.
