I received an email this morning offering a price of $29.00 to users of Parallels 4.0 (really??) if they upgrade. What really irritates me is this: I've been a loyal user of Parallels from the very beginning and I upgrade every time one is offered, including paid upgrades. As a previous and registered user I get these upgrades for $49.00. That's a nice discount from the normal price but it's not $29.00. I would like to know why someone who hasn't bothered upgrading since Version 4 should be getting Version 7 for 20 bucks less than me. I hate this kind of thing and I don't think I'm the only one. Nova isn't the first company to do this and they won't be the last, but I'm seriously disappointed in a company I've enjoyed excellent service from. I can't fathom that whoever comes up with these promos doesn't think, "Hmm... I wonder how loyal customers who pay for regular upgrades are going to feel about this...". Or maybe they just don't care. I phoned customer service and the response was more or less... well, not much. I'm not asking for anything – but I want this out there, hence this post. And yes Nova – if you offer me a $20 rebate I won't turn it down.
