    Help...

I am stupid. I did not make a backup of my HDD image before I expanded it with Parallels Image Tools to 8 GB from 4 GB. Then I booted from it, and I got "NTLDR is missing. Press a key."

How can I recover from this error? I do not want to reinstall XP SP2 and reactivate AGAIN.

    Thanks!

You might want to try booting the CD and selectng a repair option.

    marvmiller,

Try to create fresh VM and attach your expanded image to it. Will it work?

I'm getting "ntldr missing" too. :(

I have a winxp hdd that I'm trying to expand from 3gb to a larger size.

The Parallels image tool will expand the drive successfully, but whenever I try to boot it, I get the "ntldr missing" error.

Luckily I have the hdd backed-up so I've tried this a couple times, varying the size to see if it makes any difference.

    What can I try?

You should boot VM from gparted CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/) or CD with Acronis tools and resize your partition on your virtual harddrive drive. Problem should be solved by these manipulations.
