Hello, dear collegaues! I am using the 8 beta (build 811) Application server+LB on WS 2003R2 Ent. Clients connect using 2x Client from different PCs (WinXP, Win7). In our organization some users have widescreen displays with native resolution 1680x1050, which is outside 1600x1200 limit. What is real pain, these LCDs can't be used in their native resolution, since window mode for applications doesn't work properly. Issues with windowned mode. Session window's vertical scroll bar overlaps program's close button. I guess this problem is linked with following: Vertically window is drawed outside desktop. This causes vertical scroll bar to appear for session window. Maximizing session window doesn't help: window expands, but scroll bar stays on previous place, still blocking close button. Now it's time for me to ask: what causes 1600x1200 limit? Many widescreen displays today has X resolution over 1600, why not to address this limit? What is more important: is there any workarounds for this problem with scrollbars or for the limit? Thanks for the answers!
Once I switch on autohide for taskbar, and it hides down, the vertical scroll bars go away, but 2X session goes full-screen. Although, moving mouse to the bottom of the screen shows taskbar. Maybe tommorrow I'll make some screenshots. Still most interested in enabling video modes over 1600x1200.
Upgraded to 819. Noticed interesting thing: under Windows 7 programs perfectly run in seamless mode in 2048x1152 resolution, which is far more than 1600x1200. Under Windows Server Enterprise 2003 R2 with all the patches installed it switches to windowed mode. Why?
Reporting: Issue was fixed by installing RDP 6.x update to the server, from which remote apps where accessed.
