I just updated to the Sequoia 15.4 Beta and now when I try and launch my Windows 11 Arm image in Parallels Desktop 20.2.1 I get an instant computer reboot. Everything was working fine in Sequoia 15.3 Beta.

I can confirm that it also works for me since 15.4 beta 2

Yes, I've encountered this issue as well. In fact, it's not just the Windows 11 on ARM virtual machine that exposes this problem. I've also faced similar issues when trying to run various Linux distributions.

I'm trying to figure out how to resolve this issue.I've checked the crash logs, and the core statement shows:

    Code:
    panic(cpu 4 caller 0xfffffe0053356d78):Undefined kernel instruction:pc=0xfffffe00533773a8 instr=d51eff3f@sleh.c:1595
I've submitted the logs and reached out to Apple support and engineers, but they haven't provided an effective solution.Naturally, reinstalling the system would work, but I have many environment configurations that can't be perfectly migrated. So,this approach is inefficient and not really feasible.

Same issue here. Even MacOS running on Parallels results in an instant crash.

Same here. It only happens when I have the latest build of Parallels installed. With the previous version which I still have on a MacBook Air but running 15.4 beta it works fine.

Same issue--a W11 ARM x64 VM will not start and causes a kernel panic

Same issue for me. Nice not to feel alone :)

Using a Mac Mini M4 Pro (512GB, 24GB RAM) on macOS 15.4 Beta (24E5206s). Was a recent purchase, and set up a Windows 11 VM in Parallels 20, and it ran fine for about 2 weeks. Yesterday when starting the VM shows a spinning wheel for 1-2 seconds, then the entire Mac freezes (including mouse pointer), and a few seconds later, it reboots--no error messages. I've tried removing all external devices, and creating new VMs during which the ARM Windows download starts, but it crashes as soon as the VM launches to install it. I uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels, but the issue persists. I recently installed Logi Options+ on macOS, but uninstalling it didn't help. 15.4 beta update was installed 2 days ago so is most likely cause but I can't roll back the 15.4 beta update. As this is a Mac OS level issue, I tried safe mode but parallels wont run under safe mode, so out of options for now unless I wanted to reimage back to 15.3 which is a bit to drastic for me so Parallels will remain unusable pending some update or workaround by Parallels.

Same problem with MacBook Pro 2024 (Apple M4 Max) running Sequoia 15.4 (24E5206s.) Opening any VM (Windows or Linux) immediately crashes and reboots the Mac.

I am experiencing the same issue after the 15.4 update. The application crashes on my MacBook when I click on any of the virtual machines.

Yep, doesn't start - instant Mac reboot - first time I see it EVER. Not usable.

In the same boat and surprised that there are very few other reports. May have to find another option to Parallels if this cannot be resolved quickly as I am now required to run another desktop in order to work in the windows environment.

Does everybody who is having a kernel panic have an M4? I have an M1 Studio that I had not updated to 15.4 beta so it is still working. Obviously don't want to upgrade this machine until problem is fixed.

I opened a support case and got a confirmation back yesterday acknowledging that they know about it and have escalated for resolution but no ETA on a fix yet. I requested a link to download the previous version which works fine while they work to resolve it

I also am having the same problem with MacBook Pro 2024 (Apple M4 ) running Sequoia 15.4 (24E5206s). Once I open Parallels and then try to open Windows 11 that machine freezes and reboots. This is a serious problem not to be able to access important programs running under a VM. Hope the fix is soon.
