Hello, I re-installed my Mac OS X Leopard operating system on my mac. I had bought and installed Parallels before on the previous operating system, but now I cannot because my wife threw away the box with the Parallels' CD and, of course, the serial number. However, not all is lost because I do have the old operating system "moved aside" as a part of the installation process -i.e. all files which the old registered copy of parallels had made are still on the disk. Could somebody please inform me where on the drive does parallels store the license information, once the software is licensed? I would like to copy that file to the appropriate location from the old "moved-aside" location, and hopefully that should get me going. I already moved everything from /Users/[my username]/Library/Preferences/Parallels and all com.parallels.* files. Thanks, Nick
You can check the following article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/6116 the path is specified but you would need to use a Terminal since these are hidden files. If you have registered the key on our site it is a lot easier. The following article specifically describes how to retrieve Parallels 4.0 key: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5680 Indeed, these are in /Library/Preferences/Parallels/licenses.xml And one more article for 3.0 and 2.5 versions with some additional ways: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4661
