I'm running windows 7 pro 64 bit on a 2009 macbookpro and i am just now realizing that i don't have a certain kind of right mouse click of some kind in windows 7? i have a trackpad and i obviously can use it to right mouse click in my software but i just tried to right click on the "Computer" in the Start Menu and this only brings up an explorer window. if i plug in a USB mouse i /do/ get this right mouse functionality. i'm sort of really confused as to what i /can't/ do on this computer with right mouse functionality but it is sort of making sense as to why things feel a bit "clunky". can anyone help me with what I am not understanding here, whether there are settings that will fix this and why this limited functionality exists or if there is a workaround? TIA
sorry. right mouse click with the mouse brings up a context menu that lets me select "Properties" among other things. right mouse click with the trackpad only brings up an explorer window...
Do you have two fingers set up as your right-click on the trackpad? If Parallels tools are installed, this should work. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels tools. Steve
hi steve. thank you. i checked this this morning and somehow the checkbox for single click on right side of trackpad for Right Mouse Click in the mac trackpad section of Settings had been /unchecked/. i checked it and now everything is working as before. it is totally bizarre that this became unchecked however and i am sort of thinking that something i did within parallels or within windows must have unchecked this as unlikely as this sounds. i mean - i have not messed with this section of settings since i set up the computer a year and a half ago. i'm not taking ambien and i have not been reported as sleep-walking around the neighborhood or eating in my sleep... regards and thanks again for the help here.
