Ok I know that this has been covered about 300 times. But I figured I would ask any way. Most of my days are spent on Revit 2017 Bim Molding electrical. am having trouble with the program lagging. At times I will click on a pipe to modify it and it may take 5 seconds for it to let me do anything. Im running a Mac book pro mid 2014 i5 8gb of memory. I have windows 8.1 installed on a external SSD PLUS from Sandisk. Can anyone give me some help on how to make Revit run better? Thanks in advances for any help.Im also running the latest version of Parallels

Hi @JamesM3, please go to Actions > Configure > Options > Optimization > disable Free Space: Real-time Virtual Disk Optimization.

If the "Real-time Virtual Disk Optimization" option is enabled, it may slow disk performance up to 30% (at the moment of compaction, not constantly). If the host has an SSD disk, the feature will be enabled by default for all virtual machines but will work only if it is compatible with the guest OS.

Open virtual machine configuration > switch to Options tab > Optimization tab > Set performance to Faster virtual machine; check Enable adaptive hypervisor and Tune Windows for speed. If you're not running on battery power, you can also turn on the Better performance option.

Thanks for the help Paul. I took a look at the setting and they were correct. If you can think of anything else I can try please let me know.
