So I have been successfully running the VM from one of the new G-Drive Mobile 7,200 rpm Thunderbolt Drive for a week now. I have to say it's as fast or possibly even faster than running native from my iMac, besides I am tired of synchronizing between my MacBook and iMac.

Anyway I am using it between my iMac and now my brand new MacBook Pro (SSD too small for the Mac files and VM) and I am getting the message regarding the MAC address and it's asking if the VM is MOVED or COPIED but even with the message explanation and the kb article I'm still not clear about the best choice. The original VM is still on my iMac but I am not intending to use it anymore and will reside there for a while as a backup. Answering COPIED works but I'm wondering if it's better to answer MOVED in the hopes it will generate an independent MAC address for the externally based VM. Maybe someone can give a good explanation of what will happen if I use MOVED vs. COPIED

    Thanks
