Screenshots not working - causing shift key to get stuck

All,

Whenever I try to take a screenshot with command+control+shift+4, it lets me draw my box for what I want to capture. However, after I select the target area, it seems the shift key gets stuck and prevents my screenshot from saving to the clipboard properly. I have checked my keyboard shortcuts in MAC and Parallels, and I don't see anything that would be conflicting with this combination. Any ideas?

Can the issue be reproduced when Parallels Desktop if off?

 

No, this is only happening inside of my VM. Also, it is intermittent.
