I have a MacPro 1,1 - OS X 10.7.2 - running Parallels Desktop 7.0.15054. Physically connected to an ethernet switch and NOTHING else (switch is not connected to any network/internet). I have created one VM for Windows Server 2008 R2 with 'computer name' set as "S2008" and has IIS 7.5 active which runs well. Parallels>Network>Hardware>Network1 is set to Connected {default adapter}. IPCONFIG /all shows Host Name: S2008, ip: 169.254.41.101, subnet mask: 255.255.0.0. MacPro Network shows Ethernet1: connected, IPv4 using DHCP, IP: 169.254.203.102, subnet mask: 255.255.0.0. I have turned the firewalls OFF. I am able to ping Mac-to-guest and guest-to-Mac.

My need is to develop website in guest OS, and access site from Mac Safari browser.

I have site loaded on guest OS that will 'launch/display' properly if I double-click {Browse Default Web Site *:80 (http) - I have proper file index.asp and it is fully functional} in the IIS Manager window. URL shows http://localhost/index.asp.

My question (finally): In Safari window, what would I use as the url to access this? Do I need 'file sharing' turned ON somewhere? From the Mac terminal app, shouldn't I be able to "ping S2008" and get a response?

    Appreciate patience and any assist!

169 addresses are not valid. I'm not sure how you were able to ping between guest and host.

Set manual IP addresses for the guest and host using 10.0 or 192.168 addresses. Set the interface for the guest to a bridged network (doesn't matter which interface) and set the IP manually.
