Try running the process as root for a second. There were some permissions problems for some people.

Ok, i got parallels running on a 2.6.16 but not 2.6.17. Also i needed to disable smp supprt and bigmem support. But this couldn't be a solution for such a power dell machine.

is there any hint to get it work with smp and bigmem support? or do i need to switch to vmware?
