    Known Issues
    • Upon update to macOS 15.4 beta 1, M4 Macs will be unable to launch virtual machines and attempts will result in a system restart. (145309647) (FB16542958)

Workaround: Do not launch virtual machines. If virtual machine applications launch upon login, boot to Safe Mode and disable in system settings.

I also have this Problem with the new 15.4 beta, it's definitely apples fault.
Updating to the new iOS beta also wiped my iPhone and they had to cancel the update altogether for certain models.
Waiting for fixes either from apple or parallels or both.

The reply from support I got.
The issue requires an investigation on a code level, thus we escalated it to the Development team. The Development Team doesn't provide us with any ETA required for the investigation, thus we have nothing to share with you on this matter - we hope it won't take a while. But as soon as we get an update, fix, or any news regarding the case - we will update you no matter what this ticket state is.

    hello!
The issue happens on Macs with M4 chips running on macOS 15.4. macOS 15.4 is at the testing stage now, so some issues might take place.
macOS 15.4 release notes have these lines posted by one of you above:
    • Upon update to macOS 15.4 beta 1, M4 Macs will be unable to launch virtual machines and attempts will result in a system restart. (145309647) (FB16542958)
We advise you to switch to a stable macOS 15 branch to have your virtual machines up and running.

15.4 Beta 2 may have fixed the issue. I'm running on a MBP M4 max with parallels 20.2.0 and was able to launch my VM's and run them as normal after installing the Beta 2 released today.

I confirmed that 15.4 beta fixed the issue with all my VMs running Windows and Linux.

I am experiencing this issue with the official release of macOS Sequoia 15.4 and Parallels Desktop 20.2.2.

Seems to be a regression of the issues reported in the betas in this thread, because my laptop crashes when running other virtualization software too, not just Parallels.

I just upgraded to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 but unfortunately the issue is still not resolved. VMs are still causing the OS to crash on my M1 Max.
