I'm just about to get a lovely bonus and I'm looking to get some new hardware.

I do alot of work on macs so I'm getting the latest iMac27" fully decked out to its highest specs.
But I'm a mechanical engineer and do alot of work in Solidworks creating complex 3d models and sometimes running all sorts of tests on them.

    My question is:
If I ran just Solidworks through Parallels on a second monitor and all my mac stuff on the first monitor, would everything run smoothly? or am I better off putting up with logging on and off into bootcamp?

(3.4GHz i7 Quad core, 32GB RAM, and enough hardrive space to last me forever)

Your advice would be much appreciated :)
