    Hi,

After searching the forum, I found no answer to my question, so here it goes...

I just purchased a ZTE MF335 ExpressCard 3G modem. I purchased this modem because it allows you to surf the net, do calls and send SMS at the same time.

The installation disc has both Windows and MAC OSX installers. Of course, I installed the MAC version and surprise, the GUI interface has no option for for calls or SMS. I installed the Windows version in the Parallels VM and MORE surprise, the GUI DOES have the call and SMS options, which work perfectly.

Since I cant seem to find anywhere in the web a GUI version for MAC that does the same as the XP version, I will have to use the VM to access these services.

Now the tricky part, how do I share the internet connection with MAC? I saw in another (incomplete) post a kinda workaround that did not work for me, using internet sharing in MAC and Share only host in the VM.. no luck at all.

    All help is appreciated!
    Many Thanks,

    José

    My system
    MacBook Pro 2.6 3MB
    OSX 10.5.4
    Parallels Build 5608

    Solution:

    1. Attach device to Virtual machine
    2. Install drivers, according to hardware manufacturer's recommendation
    3. on Mac OS side open System Preferences ->Network
    4. Edit settings for Parallels Host-Guest adapter as bellow:
    Configure: Manually
IP address: any in range 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.254
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Router: 192.168.0.1
    DNS server: 192.168.0.1
    Search Domains: leave empty

    5. In Windows navigate to Control Panel - Network Connections
    6. Right click on Network device which provides Internet Connection -
    select Properties
    7. Click Advanced tab
    8. Select Allow other network users to connect through this computer's
    Internet connection
    9. In Home Networking Connection by default Parallels Network Adapter is
    selected click OK
    10. Click OK. You receive the following message:
When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be
    set to use IP
address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other
    computers on
your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, it is a
    good idea to set them
to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to
    enable Internet
    Connection Sharing?
    11. Click Yes.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I followed your instructions, everything went as described but when i reached step 10
"10. Click OK. You receive the following message:
When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be
    set to use IP
address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other

    Connection Sharing?
    11. Click Yes.

I did not recieve that message and the connection was not achieved.

Any idea on how to work around this?

    Many thanks,
    Jose

    Hi,

Selecting the Paralles Host Adapter in windows shows 192.186.0.1. The Modem dialup properties are in DCHP.

    Hi,

Sorry for losing momentum in this thread. Had some issues at home I had to take full attention of.

The ip/config window opens so quickly I cannot see any configurations at all! I do not have an MS-DOS like before!
How can I review the config?
