I'm running Parallels 5 on Snow Leopard. In Parallels, I run a Windows XP image. In Windows Explorer, there are right click context menus "open on mac" and "show in finder." Both have the same effect on folders - they open the folder in the Mac Finder. I can then use the Finder menu File -> Add to Sidebar to put an alias on the sidebar. Then, I can open the folder in the sidebar.

This works great for accessing network drives, similar to using ADmit Mac. However, when I log out of my Mac, the folder in the sidebar becomes inactive, whether the Windows image is running or not. I can't open it - all I can do is drag it out of the sidebar where it is deleted with one of those 'exploding cloud' animations.

Is there any way to make the sidebar link persistent, or to create an alias? Or do I have to recreate it each time I log into my computer?
