I'm wondering if anyone knows how to use The Sims Deluxe Edition -for my daughers- with parallels. I get a notice to insert CD when I'm starting it up, and CD is sitting in the computer already!

    Thanks

Have you attached the CD drive to Parallels or is OS X still controlling it?
Check the CD icon at the lower right side of the window frame.

    what i see

I see a cd icon when `i open up parallels. If I move the cursor over, it says: CD-DVDROM (IDE0:1)
Mode: real device Name: Default CDDVD-ROM Status: Connected

    Does that tell you anything??

    Thanks

If you are running the release version - eg. build 1970 - then it doesn't do a good job of emulating the optical drive for games disks with copy protection. I suspect that is what is causing your problem. Civilization III would not run on my system until I loaded up a recent Release Candidate which seems to have cracked this problem.
